On 9/21-23 I attended the FenCon IV convention in Dallas. FenCon is a Sci-Fi/Fantasy writers convention so it's a bit different than say a ComiCon or A-kon. Much smaller and not as much in the costuming… but still fun none the less. I was there all Friday night, all of Saturday, and Sunday until just before closing. This Con does exceed in the panels and workshops which makes all the fun. Also, this Con is the home of the Lonestar Shindig so the place is full of Browncoats… and that can never be a bad thing. The Shindig guest of honor was Jarrod Davis. He is a digital artist and worked on both Firefly and Serenity. He brought some really cool pics, vids, and stories to share and kept us both laughing and in awe. He was also totally cool. And you can't have Browncoats without the Bedlam Bards singing Firefly songs. Definitely great to have them around. There was a masquerade and a catwalk on Saturday which made for photo ops. And the whole weekend was full of Filk Music until the wee hours of the morning.

My photos are up on my new On the Drift Photography website. This is my shift from amateur shooting towards professional photography. There are 4 albums as I was shooting specific things at certain points. I did get to get have my first photoshoot with a very pretty young lady named Raven. Her mom is a costume designer and fortunately we ran into each other at the start of the Con and set up the shoot. I also separated out the shots of Jarrod for him as well as the Catwalk. Many of you will recognize a lot of faces in all of these photos.
